The site is situated to the East of Dalrachney Lodge, on the A938 by Carrbridge opposite the golf course. There are fantastic views out of the site to the river Dulnain, Cairngorm Mountains and across the golf course.

The residential development of fourteen detached houses are to be low density, approximately 0.2- 0.25 acre for each site. The building style will draw heavily on local tradition in order to achieve harmony with the surrounding countryside as well as unity in the development as a whole.

Housing design constraints:

• Most houses are to be situated parallel to the road.
• Houses have been positioned to optimise views, aspect and unity.
• Storey heights will either be one and a half storey or one and three-quarter storey.

Elevations:

• Front elevations are to be approximately 12 -13 metres long.
• Gable widths are to be approximately 6-7 metres wide.
• A Pitched roofed porch over front door is required.
• Gable walls should support chimneys.
• Walls should be harled (wet dashed) block work or of natural stone.
• Main roof pitch should be 40 degree or thereabouts.
• Main roof should be clad in natural slate.

Dormers:

• Should be of same material as main roof, natural slate.
• Porch and dormer should be clad in timber and may be stained a traditional colour.
• Dormers must be pitched.
• Velux windows may also be used.
